The bulky characteristic of the old S80 can still be seen but it is more polished and with the addition of more roundly and wider front grille and rectangular Daytime Running light, the car is now looks like any other new car.
The rounded off classic Volvo lights at the rear is still there but has been cut in half. The rear bumper also blends in with the body connected to the front bumper with an accent molding just below the door gives the impression of a lower and wider car. Optional luxuries are available such as Active High Beam Control (which automatically switches the headlights between high and low beams), ambient lighting for night driving and 3-D navigation.
