Toyota Aygo – Will It Ever Come To Indonesia?
Another sensibly priced Toyota cars that Indonesian Car enthusiast will probably never see. This is very disappointing as the Toyota Aygo has been available to European customers since 2007. This is probably because Indonesian consumers deemed to have a bigger buying power than European consumers. Well, that last sentence doesn’t make any sense it’s not even funny.

Toyota Aygo looks like a crossover between Honda Jazz and Toyota Yaris
Toyota Aygo name comes from the word I and Go which emphasize freedom and mobility. The Toyota Aygo which is one step down from Toyota Yaris and powered by 1.0-litre VVT-i gasoline engine which generates a maximum 68 DIN hp which can reach 0 to 100 km/hr in just 14.2 seconds. The fuel consumption is an amazing 25 km/l with CO2 emission of just 105g/km.
The Toyota Aygo is available in automatic and manual transmission. The dimension of the car is 3,415 mm long, 1,615 mm wide and 1,465 mm tall with curb weight of just 830 kg. As a comparison, Toyota Yaris dimension is 3,750 mm long, 1,695 mm wide and 1,520 mm tall with curb weight of just 1,050 kg. So Toyota Aygo is smaller than Toyota Yaris but is the car is selling in Europe where the average adult are bigger than here then it shouldn’t be a problem here too.

Toyota Aygo looks more agile and sporty
The Toyota Aygo has three doors version and a five doors version. The exterior looks very much like the minimize version of Toyota Yaris. In fact, in some respect it looks like a crossover between Honda Jazz and Toyota Yaris. The wheel is 185 / 60 with R14 inch alloy rims fit nicely with its small posture.
Just like Toyota Yaris the exterior design is very Toyota which includes features like the bulge on the bonnet around the Toyota badge, or the triangular quarter window. However, unlike Toyota Yaris which gives a fat impression, Toyota Aygo looks more agile and sporty, especially if you add the optional full body adds on.

Toyota Aygo Interior doesn’t have middle console
For the interior differing from other Toyotas in Indonesia, Toyota Aygo does not have middle consoles for its speedometers. Instead it has a single speedometer behind the wheel with sporty dash-mounted tachometer. The middle console is used for satellite navigation system or just a TV display. The interior comes with two-tone Mestizo Grey interior trim which provides good looks and durability.
The Toyota Aygo is priced at 8,995 pound sterling for the entry level and 9,860 pound sterling for the top of the line automatic transmission 5 doors which translate to just Rp 127 million and Rp 140 million respectively. In any case since Toyota Aygo is one step below Toyota Yaris, the price will be much cheaper than Toyota Yaris.
