2013 New Grand Vitara 2.4 Gets A Facelift
Just right before the end of the year PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales managed to introduced the latest New Grand Vitara 2.4 slated for the year 2013.The model that has its own fanatic fans has a new tag line called “Discovery Redefine”.
The Vitara models were first introduced in Japan in 1988 as a 3 doors semi four wheel drive. The car line up came to Indonesia in 1992 with its cousin Suzuki Escudo in 1994. The difference between Vitara and Escudo is that Escudo does not have a four wheel drive capabilities.

With the Grand Vitara 2002 models, Indonesia was the only countries that was privileged to have all three models available which is a testament to just how this specific line up is loved by the Indonesian including the current Grand Vitara line up which was introduced in Indonesia in 2006.
The New 2013 Grand Vitara gets a more stylish head lamp and more elegant front grille design. A sensor on the dash detects when the ambient light becomes too low and automatically switches daytime running lights to full beam and the instrument cluster lights adjust for better visibility.

The more sporty attained with the fog lap housing and front bumper with reflector providing a totally different style while still maintaining the characteristic line up.
The interior also gets an upgrade most importantly the audio system that is now incorporated a touch screen display with 2 Din, 6 disc, MP3/WMA/I-Pod ready (with interface) and AVC (Auto Volume Control). The new interior is also dominated with black with a touch of silver in various areas and provides 60/40 split folding rear seats.
The 2013 Grand Vitara equipped with a 2.4 liter, 4 cylinder, DOHC 16 valves engine with VVT (Variable Valve Timing) technology that regulates the valve opening depending on the rpms as well as Multi Point Injection capable of providing power of 166 PS at 6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 225Nm at 4,000 rpm.

The engine utilizes the Drive by Wire technology that uses sensors connected wirelessly to the ECM (Electronic Control Module) to enable a more responsive engine and throttle. The fuel tank can store up to 66 liter of fuel.
The 2013 Grand Vitara is available in 5 speed manual transmission and 4 speed automatic transmissions. The car with a dimension of 4,500 mm long, 1,810 mm wide and 1,683 mm tall which is smaller than its direct competitor The 2013 Honda CRV at 4,545 mm long, 1,820 mm wide and 1,685 mm tall.

The audio system that is now incorporated a touch screen display with 2 Din, 6 disc, MP3/WMA/I-Pod ready (with interface) and AVC (Auto Volume Control).
The fuel economy as listed by the EPA is around 8 km/ liter for city driving and 11 km/liter for highway which is ok but not superbly efficient for the car it size such as its competitor 2013 Honda CRV at 10 km/ liter for city driving and an outstanding 13 km/ liter for highway driving.
For price to value however, 2013 Grand Vitara provide a much better proposition at Rp 326 million for the Grand Vitara 2.4 manual transmission and 338 million for the Grand Vitara 2.4 Automatic Transmission.
The car is available in 5 color options which are Bison Brown Pearl Metallic, Gaia Bronze Pearl Metallic, White Pearl, Silky Silver Metallic, and Bluish Black Pearl Metallic.
