The third generation of Hyundai Santa Fee called the New Storm Edge which started its debut in the New York Auto Show in April 2012 hits the soft spots of the Indonesian automotive public.
The Storm Edge designed which follows nature fluidic sculpture principal was said to have been inspired by the power of the lighting that shapes the curves of the universe. As a result the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fee has a styling update which gives it a dynamic look inside and out.
Asides from becoming the second best seller of all Hyundai line up (165 units sold), just behind the Hyundai H1 (225 units sold) during the IIMS 2012, it also took the New Wave Conversation Award 2012 by MarkPlus Inc and the 2012 Best Big SUV awards from Autobild Indonesia. Internationally, the sport version has also been awarded the “Utility Vehicle of the Show” by the Southern Automotive Media Association (SAMA) at the 2012 Miami International Auto Show.
The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fee is 4,650 mm long, 1,880 mm wide and 1,690 mm tall, just a little bit bigger than the 2013 Honda CRV at 4,545 mm long, 1,820 mm wide and 1,685 mm tall. The car has a 185 mm ground clearance with a fuel consumption of 13.5 km per liter of highway and city drive combined with 194 g/km CO2 emission. The fuel tank can hold 64 liter diesel fuel. The engine top speed it 190 km per hour and can get from 0 to 100 km per hour in less than 10 seconds with 4.2 meter breaking distance.
The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fee is powered by 2.2 liter CRDi 4 inline 16 valves diesel engine. The transmission is only available in 6-speed Shiftronic automatic transmission. The Common Rail type Diesel Engine has a maximum output at 194hp / 3.800 rpm and top torque 445Nm is evenly achieved at 1.800-2.500 rpm. The Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT) provides a more responsive engine for a SUV its size.
The new aerodynamic shape with LED-accented, sweeping, angular headlamps, fluid body side lines and a rear spoiler give The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fee a leaner, more fluid look.
