Chevrolet Spin An Affordable GM MPV

The US car maker General Motors releases a statement saying that they will produce the Chevrolet Spin multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) in Indonesia. This seven-passenger vehicle will start production at GM’s manufacturing facility in Jakarta, West Java, from early 2013.

It is estimated to look pretty similar to Chevrolet Spin available in North America

The Indonesia General Motors’ press release said that the decision to build Chevrolet Spin in Indonesia is announced GM Chevrolet Chief Executive Officer, Dan Akerson at the company’s annual meeting in Detroit, the United States.

GM invested $ 150 million to reopen the 11 hectares plant in Bekasi which will produce about 40,000 vehicles a year and will also opened 800 new jobs.

By the target market aimed by Chevrolet Spin, it will priced between Rp 150 million for the entry level to under RP 200 million for top of the line version.
