BMW X1 sDrive20d and sDrive18i Introduced In Indonesia

Another luxury vehicles from BWM was introduced recently adding even more option for the Indonesia upper class market. The BMW X1 available in two types of engine the sDrive20d advanced diesel engine and the sDrive18i with gasoline fueled engine.

The BMW X1 will compete in the luxury SUV class with other brand such as the Audi Q3. The car has claimed various awards such as “Off-Roader of the Year”, “Red Dot Award” for outstanding product design, Auto Bild Design Award, as well as a five-star Euro NCAP rating.

The design of BMW X1 gives a heavy impression usually associated with expensive European cars. The large distinct upright kidney front grille with double round LED chromed head lights sitting on top of a dark colored front fender is unmistakably BMW. Similar design has been adapted by other crossovers such as Mazda CX5 and Nissan Juke however with the X1, the larger hood gives an impression that the engine is the number one priority and its wide posture made the car looks like its stick comfortably to the ground.

The car engine with 6 speed automatic transmission with Steptronic produces 110 kW (150 hp) at 6,400 rpm that allows the X1 sDrive18i to get from a standing still to 100 km/h in 9.7 seconds, reaching an eventual top speed of 202 km/h.

The fuel consumption for the X1 sDrive18i is 13 km/ liter combined driving, 9.6 km/ liter for city driving and 16.2 km/ liter for highway driving with a CO2 emission of 180 g/km.

The more expensive BMW X1 sDrive20d version is powered by BMW TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder diesel engine with two intelligently combined exhaust turbochargers. Available in 8 speed automatic transmission with Steptronic, this more powerful engine produces 135 kW (184 hp) at 4,000 rpm capable of going from a standing still to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds, reaching an eventual top speed of 205 km/h.

Thanks to the third-generation common rail direct injection and the BMW EfficientDynamics package, even though the X1 sDrive20d has more power, it also has a much better fuel consumption with numbers like 20.4 km/ liter for combined driving, 17.2 km/ liter for city driving and an amazing 22.7 km/ liter highway driving with also fewer CO2 emission of 129 g/km.

The BMW X1 is 4,454 mm long, 1,798 mm wide and 1,545 mm wide which is a little bit smaller than The 2013 Honda CRV at 4,545 mm long, 1,820 mm wide and 1,685 mm tall.

The interior of BMW X1 is where it shows the difference with the competitor. Germany fine product combined with touch of style really spoils the eyes. The two tone interior with satin silver matt trim is designed ergonomically without sacrificing the layout. The BMW Xi has a clear uncluttered cockpit with a central console where all important button and knobs are placed within the reach of the driver.

The entertainment system is BMW HiFi system with 8 loudspeakers with radio and USB, AUX-IN as well as Bluetooth hands free facility. There is an electric seat adjustment with memory for the drivers and rear armrest with two integrated cup holders for the back passengers.
